Primary agricultural product demand in post-communist Russia
Article Abstract:
The study examines food consumption patterns for households in Siberian Russia, based on a survey conducted by the American Business Center in Vladivostok in February/March 1996. It concluded that the expenditure income elasticity of cereal products is positive whereas income elasticity of cereal products is zero for caloric measures, implying demand for service from non-agricultural sectors.

Estimating price and income elasticities in the presence of age-cohort effects
Article Abstract:
Bayesian cohort analysis was used to classify individual consumption derived from Japanese household data, by age, cohort, and period effects. The determined pure period effects were regressed against charges in price and income, to obtain less biased estimates for demand parameters than non- or partially age-compensated analysis.
