Corporate finance in the north west: acquisitions dominate market
Article Abstract:
The market for corporate finance in north west England is not likely to be as large in 1996 as it was in 1995 when there were two major deals. These were the acquisition of Norweb by North West Water, and the acquisition of Boddingtons by Greenalls. Large companies are still selling non-core activities, and this should help the market in 1996, as should low interest rates, low levels of inflation, increased liquidity for investors, and the imminence of an election in the UK.
