Proactive ingenuity helps retailers boost one-time-use camera sales
Article Abstract:
Camera and photo supply retailers are resorting to proactive ingenuity to boost the sales of one-time-use cameras. Cord launched a promotion allowing customers to purchase three Fuji Quicksnap flash cameras, which sell individually for $7.99, for a total price of $15. An additional $6 per camera mail-in rebate offered by Fuji means that the customers actually get paid $3 for buying the cameras. Other stores engaged in sales promotion are Photo Express of Circleville, OH, and McAlister Camera and Imaging.

Article Abstract:
Cliff's Camera & Video in Enid, OK, is 50 years in the business and has gone from a traditional photo store to a minilab with digital equipment. Owner Cliff Morton credits the store's resilience to the move to digital, noting that the store would not have survived the competition from mass merchants. The company now has two locations, which are located just a block away from each other.
