The role of RNA interference in heterochromatic silencing
Article Abstract:
Heterochromatin has emerged as a key factor in epigenetic regulation of gene expression, chromosome behavior and evolution. The ways in which heterochromatic silencing depends on the processing of repeat RNA transcripts into short interfering RNAs (siRNAs), which then direct chromatin modification, are reviewed.

The molecular properties and applications of Anthozoa fluorescent proteins and chromoproteins
Article Abstract:
The structural properties and potential applications of the Anthozoa members of the GFP-like protein family, which consists of fluorescent proteins and chromoproteins, are presented. It is seen that this diverse set of proteins can be used in animal tissues and as intracellular biosensors.
