Report says China can be countered without faster ship buying
Article Abstract:
Congressional Research Service report suggests, that the rising military threat posed by China may require more United States ships to defend Taiwan from attack, however, some United States counter-moves would not require the Navy to accelerate its purchase of new ships and submarines. The report also stated that the Congress should consider the possibility that the Navy should purchase greater numbers of the future F-35 Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) and fewer of F/A-18E/F Super Hornet fighter aircraft.
