Birse Construction is being divided into three parts,process and civil engineering and building. The group has disposed of BPH, an engine refurbisher, and is able to focus on core activities. The group has also trimmed its client base so can specialise on better quality projects with higher margins. The group's profit is forecast at 4 million pounds sterling for 2000, with a rise to 6.5 million pounds for 2001.
