Restaurant chain no longer flavour of the month
Article Abstract:
PizzaExpress has seen a drop in its stock price, though concerns about its scope for expansion appear to be exaggerated. Analysts estimate that the company can increase the number of its United Kingdom restaurants by 100% to some 450 by 2004, with an increase in earnings and sales to 2007 with the maturing of these restaurants. There is concern that maturing takes place more rapidly than previously, which could affect sales growth in the future. The company plans to expand abroad but it is not clear that this will be successful.
