Revamped Revco restores pharmacies to center stage
Article Abstract:
Revco DS Inc's financial health has been restored four years after its bankruptcy reorganization. Chapter 11 has given it access to restructuring programs that a non-bankrupt company could not afford. Revco was able to downsize its store base and use the divestiture proceeds for upgrading profitable outlets. It has installed point-of-sale scanning registers and the Prescription Access Link in its outlets. Revco has also redirected its product lines to health care and has become more of a conventional drugstore. Revco had comparable-store sales growth of 10.6% for the 4th qtr and 9.3% for the fiscal year ended May 1992.

Horton results anticipate homebuilding recovery
Article Abstract:
DR Horton Inc built 309 homes in the Sep 1992 quarter in contrast to only 252 during the same period in 1991 despite the recession in the industry. The evident corporate growth, however, has failed to encourage its stock valuation which settled at 7 5/8 after the Jun 1992 high of $11. The Horton family, led by CEO Donald Horton, does not share the market's pessimism as shown by the purchase of another 58,000 shares. Analyst Lawrence Horan is also bullish about the stock, claiming that only a stagnant economy could hamper its growth.
