Russian launch vehicles on the world market: a case study of international joint ventures
Article Abstract:
Russia has pioneered space launches and has very extensive experience and technological expertise in this sector. Its transition from a closed society to an open economy spurred this nation to fold itself into the global launch market, which Russia has had difficulty accomplishing. However, the intervention of foreign businesses willing to become partners with Russian enterprises may enable the nation to realize its aim. The cooperation between Russia and its western neighbors in the area of space commercialization and its potential implications are evaluated.

National subsidies in the international commercial launch market
Article Abstract:
All space launch capable countries are directly or indirectly aiding their ventures into commercial space launches. The US is trying to set international standards in this field. However, conflicting definitions and philosophies make the implementation of the standards unfeasable. To compete in the world market, the US must encourage entrepreneurship in the field, relax import/export restrictions, develop a long-term policy, and the military should encourage competition, cooperation, innovation and advancement.
