Article Abstract:
SEI Corp reacquired 40,000 shares for $1 million last Jun 1992 quarter, raising its stock buybacks to over four million shares. The repurchase indicated the company's optimism about the stock. SEI posted satisfactory gains in cash flow, Trust and Banking segment revenues, mutual fund products and bank proprietary fund segment. Profits, however, for the 1st half 1992 through June fell to $7.5 million because of investments priorities. Investment managers Thomas Smith, Edward McAree and Thomas Tryforos acquired 331,000 shares at 22 3/4 to 27 1/2 last Jun and Jul 1992, increasing their stakes to 5.4%. SEI pays a 15-cent dividend on its 11.2 million shares.

Duff and Phelps Corp.'s shares opened at $12.50 before settling down at $8 when it started trading. Insider trading commenced buying after the credit rating agency's stock reached $9, as six traders collected a combined 80,600 shares with a price range from $9.50 to $7.75. from Nov. 16 to Dec. 23, 1994. Pres. Paul McCarthy bought the most at 35,000 shares with a price range from $9-$7.88.
