Scrutinising business banking
Article Abstract:
The Office of Fair Trading and the Competition Commission are asking for scrutiny of big banks that deal with small businesses (SME) and have criticized these banks for poor service quality and excessive profits as they found these banks making pounds sterling 700m a year in the period 1998-2002 from their SME customers. The OFT announced a new review of those undertakings and the performance of banks in relation to their small business clients.
