A 132-year history is not enough
Article Abstract:
Bentalls is a United Kingdom department store chain which also owns 80 million pounds sterling worth of freehold real estate. The company has brought in a new chief executive, David Elliot, but there are still concerns over its performance. There are seven outlets, including a store in Bristol, England, opened in 1998. The group's retail activities have been subsidized through low rent level on premises. Sales at the Bristol outlet have not been as good as expected and are not expected to contribute until 2000.
