Article Abstract:
The traditional view in economics reveals that with the long-run benefits outweighing the costs, people take drugs, smoke and have unsafe sex after having made considered choices. A discussion on whether such behavior is to be considered rational or irrational by the economist is made.

Achieving the work/life balance?
Article Abstract:
The ways to tackle the issue of the work/life balance in western countries are addressed. Some of the solutions such as relying on the scientific method, banning use of modern electronics in selected parts of the organization and implementation of Initiative-Free Year are highlighted.
