Shop around to benefit from gas glut: a massive demand/supply imbalance means that industrial and commercial users are benefiting from falling prices
Article Abstract:
New gas production has created oversupply which will benefit both industrial and commercial gas users. Gas prices have been falling since the fourth quarter of 1994 partly because some major independent suppliers have gas coming on upstream and they want to gain market share. However suppliers most likely to survive are the subsidiaries of major internationa oil and gas companies, or of regional electricity companys (Recs).

GTL hopes to make gold from gas
Article Abstract:
GTL Resources decided that the gas-to-liquid (GTL) methanol business was a good bet, although GTL remains high risk. The company develops offshore floating processing systems and the first floating methanol will be in the Rang Dong field, and an agreement with PetroVietnam has been secured. Currency risk is reduced as business transactions are in US dollars, but this is Vietnam's first offshore conversion plant.
