The various arguments regarding the acceptance of a proposal to increase the level at which limited companies need to conduct annual independent audits, are presented. While some analysts believes that the rise of the threshold is important since it would result into audit emerging as a specialist service in the small or medium-sized entities (SME) sector, other firms point out the removal of the audit requirement as a positive measure.
