Sparks fly as Viridian slams ESB for stifling competition
Article Abstract:
Viridian has criticised the deregulation of the Irish electricity market. Viridian claims that the Electricity Supply Board (ESB) is not providing information on the electricity market in Ireland, and is thus hindering Viridian's efforts to enter that market once competition is permitted. ESB is state owned and Viridian claims that some of the Irish Electricity Regulation Bill gives more favorable treatment to ESB than to newcomers in the market, since ESB will automatically be able to build new power plants.
