Steel men feel the heat
Article Abstract:
Thyssen is carrying out legal action over a fraud investigation which has involved the arrest of the chief executive, Dieter Vogel. The investigation is to do with the acquisition of AHB Metallurgiehandel, a metals trading concern from eastern Germany, in 1992. The acquisition has already been investigated in 1993 and Thyssen has paid 175 million German marks to the privatization body, the Treuhand, in relation to this deal. Thyssen is challenging the legality of arrests of its executives.
