Company facts: 3M
Article Abstract:
Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing (3M) benefits from AAA rating for its debt and has a wide range of brands and products. The company has been affected by competition, and reorganization has followed disappointing profits growth. The video and audio tape operations are being shut down and the computer imaging and storage operations are being demerged. This will initially lead to a charge but long-term cost savings should result from the reorganization.
