Structural analysis: defining epitopes: it's not as easy as it seems
Article Abstract:
Sites involved in noncovalent interactions are often generically referred to as epitopes. The sites with which the epitopes react are called paratopes. Examples of these reactions are hormonal regulation of physiological processes, regulation of gene expression by transcription factors, signal transduction, immune recognition mediated by antibodies or T lymphocytes, and pharmacologic effect of drugs.

Transgenesis sunny-side up
Article Abstract:
There is significant advance in avian biology by the use of primordial germ cells to transmit genetic modifications through the chicken germ line. Producing therapeutic proteins in egg white is a potential advantage as the proteins are likely to be glycosylated similarly to human proteins.
