Study: Oil independence could improve warfighting
Article Abstract:
The fuel-conserving light-weight materials, which can be used by the defense contractors in building weapons platforms, will help the U.S. Army to save the fuel costs by $1.2 billion every year and also improve warfighting capability. The cost of delivering fuel to weapons platforms is very high and thus the Department of Defense (DOD) will have to develop more fuel-conserving lightweight materials to save costs.
