The trial of Kenneth Lay and Jeffrey Skilling, the captains at the helm of Enron, the energy company which soared and then crashed by end of 2001, has started in Houston, generating a flurry of media interest and increased security. Houston has transformed as a stage for drama, tears and laughter and the nation's eyes are glued to the television sets to watch the long-awaited, big-budget Enron trial.

Dubious dealings at Durex

Five former directors of SSL International, the company famous for its Durex condoms, were charged with fraud offences relating to the financial statements of company. The Serious Fraud Offices (SFO) that is handling with the investigation revealed that the SSL had 'fully co-operated' with the investigation and none of its existing employees are to be subject to criminal proceedings.
