B-M cuts, downsizes ranks to boost service
Article Abstract:
Burston-Marsteller (B-M) CEO Chris Komisarjevsky informed employees on Dec 2000 that the decision to reduce 40 positions in the firm's 800-strong US workforce is to improve client service. According to Komisarjevsky, some senior executives will become part of a select group of professionals, called 'senior advisors,' to better serve clients. Komisarjevsky said the restructuring, which he explained as a sign of B-M's strength, will flatten the company's organization 'and make it less hierarchical.'
