The Russians want to buy the design of Let Kunovice's aeroplane L 610 G

Let (Kunovice, Czech Republic), aeroplane manufacturer, will probably sell the design of the transport aeroplane L 610 G to a Russian investor. The aeroplane L 610 G with a capacity of 40 passengers was to be the follower of the transport aeroplane L 410. The development and certification of L 610 G cost over CEK 10 bil and has not been completed due to a lack of finances and a lack of interest at Let's owner Ayres Corporation (US). About CEK 350 mil are missing to complete the development of the aeroplane.

Evektor introduces a new aeroplane

Evektor-Aerotechnik (Kunovice, Czech Republic), small sports aeroplane manufacturer, completed a new aeroplane called Harmony in Apr 2001. The aeroplane is intended for basic flying courses and recreation and sports flights. The development of the aeroplane cost about CEK 15 mil. CEK 8 mil of the sum was covered from an interest-free loan from a grant for small and medium-sized companies. The price of the aeroplane will be about USD 70,000. The aeroplane will be launched in the summer of 2001. About 10-15 aeroplanes of the type should be sold every year. The firm saw a turnover of CEK 25 mil in 2000. It sold 35 aeroplanes of the type EV-97 Eurostar to Italy, Germany, the UK. In 2001 it plans to increase its sale volume to 65 aeroplanes. The firm has 350 employees.

Moravan prepares a transport aeroplane
Article Abstract:
Moravan (Otrokovice, Czech Republic), training and acrobatic aircraft manufacturer, plans to start the series production of a transport plane in 2002. The plane is intended for the transport of passengers and material in bad climatic conditions. The prototype of the new aeroplane Z-400 has already been made. The firm plans to do the first flight tests of the aeroplane in the autumn of 2001. The aeroplane should be launched to the market by the end of 2002. The rights for the development and operation of the aeroplane were bought by the subsidiary Moravan-Aeroplanes (Czech Republic) from the Russian designing centre Sukhoyov's Designing Office. The aeroplane with a capacity of 8-10 seats will be equipped with an engine from Orenda (Canada). Z-400 will cost from USD 600,000 to USD 1 mil, according to equipment. Moravan co-operates with a partner from North America in the aeroplane's development and production. The first customers interested in the aeroplane are from North America and the Near East. Moravan plans to sell several dozens of the aircraft per year. The manufacturing could be partly moved to the bankrupt firm Let (Kunovice, Czech Republic), which is for sale. Moravan has about 700 employees.
