The business of credibility
Article Abstract:
Twelve newspaper executives offer their views on why the credibility of newspapers in the US is declining. For instance, Marti Buscaglia, VP for market development at St Paul Pioneer Press, is disturbed by public perception that newspapers publish sensational stories without checking the facts first, just to increase circulation. On the other hand, Sheri Dill, VP for marketing at the Wichita Eagle, says newspaper credibility is falling because of newspapers' lack of respect for their communities.
