The contribution of formal planning to decisions
Article Abstract:
The way in which formal strategic planning influences decisions was investigated by studying 1,087 decisions made by executives in 129 Fortune 500 companies between 1982 and 1986. The results indicated that more than 15% of the variance of the data was accounted for by the characteristics of decisions. The observed planning techniques made a greater contribution toward important, risky, global, and divestment-related decisions.

Reputation and corporate strategy: a review of recent theory and applications
Article Abstract:
The reputation of a corporation is a set of attributes ascribed to the firm that are inferred from the firm's past behavior. The concept of reputation has been formalized by recent research, although there is nothing new about the intuition behind reputation building. The strategic behavioral implications of these formal models of reputation are analyzed.
