The gas sector should be privatized shortly
Article Abstract:
Transgas (Prague, Czech Republic), gas firm, could be privatized together with eight gas distributors in 2001. The National Property Fund and the Ministry of Industry and Trade completed the preparation of the transformation of Transgas from a state company into a joint-stock company in 2001, for the reason of the firm's privatization. The newly cleared firm called Transgas has a stock of CEK 36.5 bil. Transgas's uncleared receivables with a balance value of CEK 4.6 bil towards Russia, Kazakhstan and the Ukraine from the period of socialism were excluded in the residual state company CPP Transgas (Czech Republic) including useless land and other buildings. This company will have property worth about CEK 0.5 bil. About CEK 350 mil of the sum is represented by the worth of land. The residual firm should be liquidated by 2006.

Primalex is waiting for a new owner
Article Abstract:
Keramika Horni Briza (KHB) (Horni Briza, Czech Republic), ceramic tile manufacturer, will sell the production of its decorating paints Primalex. It will also sell its subsidiary Primalex Slovakia (Slovakia). The volume of Primalex production in the Czech Republic exceeded 35,000 t and proceeds from the production totalled CEK 450 mil in 2000. In Slovakia, 8,000 t of Primalex was produced in 2000. The trade mark Primalex has a 60% share on the Czech market. In 2000 KHB sold two of its divisions, Zarovyroba-Fire Production and Kamenina-Stoneware. KHB saw proceeds of CEK 2.309 bil in 2000, about CEK 300 mil less compared to 1999. Its 2000 profit amounted to CEK 160 mil. The firm has 1,379 employees.

Mora sells its metallurgy division
Article Abstract:
Mora Moravia (Marianske Udoli, Czech Republic), cooking equipment manufacturer, sold its metallurgy division at the end of 2000. The division was bought by Eika (Spain), heating component manufacturer, for an unspecified price. The sale of the division is a part of the firm's restructuring. Mora will use all the proceeds from the sale to lower its credit burden.
