The germ of pluripotency
Article Abstract:
The successful derivation of embryonic stem (ES)-like cells from mature adult mouse testis at a remarkable frequency of ~30% is reported. The cells, designated multiponent adult germline stem cells (maGSCs), not only express ES cell markers but also form teratomas when transplanted under the skin of mice and produce various somatic cells under different in vitro conditions.

Induced pluripotency and cellular alchemy
Article Abstract:
Scientists have described how the introduction of Oct4, Sox2, c-Myc and Klf4 into fibroblasts endowed them with some of the pluripotent characteristics of embryonic stem cells, which acquired an ability to produce cells of many types. To achieve this, the factors associated with pluriopotency should be introduced into the fibroblasts.

Many ways to pluripotency
Article Abstract:
Researchers have found that epiblast stem cells (EpiSCs) resemble human embryonic stem (ES) cells more closely than the mouse ES cells. Some embryonic carcinoma (EC) cells were found to be pluripotent as they could form all cell types of the embryonic and adult mouse but not trophectoderm cells.
