The glass firm Glaverbel triples its profit

Glaverbel Czech (GC) (Teplice, Czech Republic), flat glass manufacturer, saw a profit of CEK 915 mil in 2000. The sum is three times higher compared to 1999. The firm's proceeds totalled more than CEK 7 bil in 2000. Its proceeds from exports rose to CEK 5 bil in 2000 compared to nearly CEK 4 bil in 1999. The company commissioned a power saving production line and started the construction of a fire production plant in 2000. The group Glaverbel, which associates GC, the automotive glass manufacturer Splintex Czech (Bilina-Chuderice, Czech Republic), the building glass manufacturer Glaverbel Glavostav (Bilina-Chuderice, Czech Republic) and another 19 companies, saw total proceeds of CEK 10.8 bil in 2000 compared to CEK 9.3 bil in 1999.

The glass firm Glaverbel will spend CEK 0.5 bil

Glaverbel Czech (GC) (Teplice, Czech Republic), glass company, will build a new CEK 500 mil plant in Olovi, the Czech Republic. The plant, which will produce fire glass of the trade mark Pyrobel, should be commissioned at the turn of Oct and Nov 2001. It will be equipped with fully automated technology and will have about 25 employees. GC, which has nearly 1,500 employees, manufactures mainly flat glass for the building industry. Its proceeds totalled CEK 5.86 bil in 1999. CEK 4 bil of the sum was generated by exports. GC's net profit amounted to more than CEK 300 mil in 1999, nearly a double compared to 1998. The company has not reported its 2000 results yet.

Glaverbel Czech (Teplice, Czech Republic), flat glass manufacturer, saw a profit of CEK 930 mil in 2000, three-times more compared to 1999. The company will transfer CEK 875 mil of the 2000 profit to its retained profit. The item is intended for investments in new lines and technology. The company will transfer CEK 46.5 mil of the profit to its reserve fund and CEK 12.8 mil to its social fund. The firm will not pay dividends for 2000.
