The impact of activity level on sweat accumulation and thermal comfort using different underwear
Article Abstract:
High heat and sweat production during higher work periods leads to increase in sweat accumulation, increased mean skin temperature, and warm sensation giving higher thermal discomfort to the workers in the rest as well as work periods as compared to the intermittent work with lower work intensities. Fabric and construction of the underwear also showed an effect on the evaporation rate in a three-layer ensemble during work at a high activity level.

Localized temperatures and water vapour pressures within clothing during alternate exercise/rest in the cold
Article Abstract:
A study to determine the temperature, water vapor pressures and skin temperature of a human in clothes during alternating work and rest in a cold environment was conducted. Eight males participated in the study. Results show the significance of heat exchange and transport in localized body areas. Various variables affect such heat systems. Further research for each body area is recommended.

Validation and adjustment of the mathematical prediction model for human sweat rate responses to outdoor environmental conditions
Article Abstract:
A mathematical prediction model for human sweat rate responses over-estimated the sweat loss in shady conditions and under-estimated it in conditions such as open fields with high solar radiation. Since this mathematical model was based on inside laboratory conditions, it was of limited use outdoors. The study was performed in coastal, semi-arid and desert climates.
