Zetor avoids a danger of bankruptcy proceedings
Article Abstract:
Zetor (Brno, Czech Republic), tractor manufacturer, plans to produce about 6,000 tractors in 2001. The firm re-started its series production in Oct 2000 after a 1.5-year pause. It produced over 800 tractors, 600 engines and spare parts worth CEK 20 mil in 1Q 2001. Currently it has 200 employees. Zetor has not ended up going bankrupt because its shareholders prefer judicial settlement. The firm should be acquired by a new owner by the summer of 2001. The most important bidders are Mahindra and Mahindra (India) and Uzel (Turkey).

Sokolovska Uhelna will increase its stock

Sokolovska uhelna (Sokolov, Czech Republic), brown coal mining company, plans to increase its stock to nearly CEK 7 bil in 2001. Currently, the firm has a stock of CEK 6.763 bil. The company's capital should increase by the value of the land that was excluded from the privatization of the former state company for the reasons of obligations.
