Lovochemie builds a new plant at a cost of more than CEK 1 bil

Lovochemie (Lovosice, Czech Republic), chemical fertilizer and nitrogen compound producer, has started the construction of a new CEK 1.2 bil nitric acid plant. The construction should be completed in Nov 2002. The new plant will be built by Chemoprojekt (Prague, Czech Republic) according to French technology. The capacity of the plant's new line will be 900 t per day and will fully replace four out-of-date plants. The firm will decrease its nitrogen dioxide emissions by 150 t, about one third per year. Lovochemie saw a net profit of CEK 221 mil in 2000 compared to a loss of CEK 54 mil in 1999. Its proceeds exceeded CEK 2.5 bil in 2000. The company produced 1 mil t of fertilizers in 2000 compared to 900,000 t in 1999. Its proceeds amounted to more than CEK 720 mil for 1Q 2001, CEK 38 mil less compared to 1Q 2000. The firm has about 700 employees. Lovochemie has a 94% majority stake held by Agrobohemie (Czech Republic).

CeramTec commissions a new plant in Sumperk
Article Abstract:
Ceramtec (Germany), ceramic firm, commissioned a new hall in Sumperk, the Czech Republic, on 06 Apr 2001. The hall will produce ceramic components for sanitary fittings. The investment costs on the hall's construction were CEK 90 mil. The firm will increase the number of its employees in Sumperk from 215 to 300 persons due to the new hall.
