Dead certs?
Article Abstract:
Stock certificates are popular among United Kingdom investors because they bestow a sense of security and allow stockholders to receive communications directly from the company. Nominee accounts are held in the name of the stockbrokers and investors are beneficial owners who have the advantage of less paperwork but may be concerned about loss of stockholder rights. Private investors can also take out sponsored membership of Crest which gives some benefits of nominee accounts while removng some of the drawbacks.

What are perfect clients made of
Article Abstract:
UK stockbrokers have preferences for different types of clients such as those who can offer good ideas, as well as those who bring the brokers a lot of commission. Brokers like clients who provide feedback, answer their mail, do not lose forms or allow their pets to eat them, and do not seek to sell shares they do not possess. Brokers like decisive clients who understand markets they operate in, and clients who are loyal to their broker's company.
