The perceptions and feelings of shiftworkers' partners
Article Abstract:
The impact of shiftwork on the personal lives and partners of shiftworkers is investigated. Results show that there is a negativeindirect impact of shiftwork upon the partners of shiftworkers, and this is further aggravated by the night-shift period. Generally, the partners of shiftworkers are unhappy over the shiftworkers' work schedule. Moreover, the shiftworkers' lowered well-being and morale have a direct effect on the social and domestic disruptions.

Dissecting circadian performance rhythms: implications for shiftwork
Article Abstract:
The effects of the disturbance of circadian rhythms in shiftworkers' work performance are investigated. Results show that different rates of adjustment to shiftwork hours is found for different types of shiftworkers' tasks, depending on the relative magnitude of their endogenous and exogenous control. Therefore, the design of shift systems must take into account the workers' circadian performance rhythms.

Is there a 'best compromise' shift system?
Article Abstract:
Ananalysis describing arguments against previous studies on night shift systems is presented. Earlier findings show that factors excluding social indicate a preference for prolonged or permanent night shifts. Current studies show that earlier results overestimate problems of rapidly-rotating shift systems and underestimate problems of establishing permanent night shift systems.
