Data released by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) reveals that the pound sterling is back in vogue in 2006, overtaking the yen as the third reserve currency, behind the US dollar and the euro, in the second quarter of the year. Among the reasons for the pound's re-found popularity is the boom in oil exports as well as the incredible stability that has replaced the UK's past penchant for boom and bust.
