Transgene escape and transplastomics
Article Abstract:
The British press has been very negative in its reporting of genetically modified (GM) food. The negativity transcends the gamut from lowbrow tabloids to the highbrow broadsheets. Press releases follow Greenpeace activities such as the dumping by that organization of 4 tons of GM soybeans on Tony Blair's doorstep. That organization filed a lawsuit against the EPA for approving transgenic plants carrying the Bacillus thuringiensis toxin.
