Trial by jury
Article Abstract:
A sample of investors surveyed by Investors Chronicle have provided information on their dealing habits, and 66% deal less than once monthly, with the same percentage having owned stocks for a decade or more. Larger investors tend to use dealing-only brokers, at 59% of those investing more than 500,000 pounds sterling, but the proportion is higher for smaller investors. Most deals that respondents make are for under 3,000 pounds sterling, with 10% for amounts less than 1,000 pounds, and deals of 10,000 pounds and over account for 5% of the total.

All part of the service
Article Abstract:
Stockbrokers offer different types of services for United Kingdom investors and charges depend on the level of service offered, with advice costing more than dealing without advice. Portfolio management is more expensive and there is a wide price range. Investors may use different types of services according to their needs at particular times, such as selling small numbers of stocks using execution-only brokers. Online dealing is also developing in the UK, and investors can also setup Investment Clubs.
