Turf war rages over electronic payments
Article Abstract:
Electronic data interchange (EDI) network was developed to automate purchase orders and invoices with trading partners and to reduce the costs and inefficiencies associated with handling paper. Though large corporations are using EDI network, the main disadvantage of EDI network for smaller companies with less business volumes lies in implementation cost. The arrival of internet-based technologies is turning the existing electronic payments systems obsolete. The feasibility of internet-based technologies over EDI network in carrying out business process for a company is examined.
