The squash market is showing signs of a revival in 1999 after being hit by the launch of the chilled juice drink Sunny Delight from Procter & Gamble. The AC Neilsen figures ending October 1999 reveal squash sales through multiple grocers growing at 2% in volume terms and 3% by value to GB[pound] 378mn. Innovations in areas such as high juice dilutables has helped as have strong sales of own label goods. Robinsons remains the clear brand leader for the category.

UK: BRITVIC ADDS NEW SPRING SEASON

Britvic Soft Drinks of the UK is to add a new range to its Robinsons High Juice premium. The new edition will be called Robinsons High Juice Spring Season and will consist of 50% juice mix of rhubarb, cranberry and apple. The new range will be a limited edition and will be launched with TV advertising in March 2000. The group launched the Robinsons High Juice range eighteen months ago and now holds a 29% share of the take-home high juice market.

UK: STRATHMORE LAUNCHES NEW TONIC

Strathmore, the brand leader in the flavoured water market, has launched Strathmore Classic Juniper, retailing at GB[pound] 1.29 for a 1.5 litre PET bottle or GB[pound] 0.69 for a 500ml PET bottle.
