US expands anti-bioterrist measures

This article discusses the many plans and legislative proposals before the United States government in response to the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11 and growing concern over bioterrorism. President Bush has promised 41.8 billion to fight bioterrorism in the next fiscal year.

EU-US experts urge stiffer rules for biotech foods

A special European Union (EU) and United States (US) "Biotechnology Consultative Forum" called for stronger regulation for the use of biotechnology in agricultural food production. The forum called for a system that would guarantee biotech food safety.
