Untapped resource
Article Abstract:
Pittencrieff's chief executive, Terry Heneaghan, left the company in Jun 1997 and has yet to be replaced. Two weeks prior to his resignation, Gothic Energy withdrew a bid for Pittencrieff. Scottish Value Management and Liverpool Partnership are key investors in the company and there is speculation that they aim to liquidate Pittencrief and sell its assets. The company's pre-tax profit is forecast at 2.5 million pounds sterling for 1997 by Bell Lawrie White.
