Tax information retrieval at KPMG Peat Marwick, and FAST-TAX's E-Form
Article Abstract:
KPMG Peat Marwick's New Jersey-based tax practice office employs several computer programs to provide its tax professionals with constant access to information on current tax developments, as well as with a means to communicate with one another through the computer. KPMG uses 'cc:Mail,' an electronic mail system that allows the international accounting firm's tax practitioners from any office in any part of the world to communicate with one another. The company's tax office also uses the full-text database management and retrieval package called 'ZyINDEX.' This search system makes current tax updates and correspondence available to users. Another useful tax accounting program is FAST-TAX's 'E-Form.' This computer program is an electronic tax form service onCD-ROM intended to take the place of an accounting firm's traditional forms library.
