Using a family of measures to assess organizational performance
Article Abstract:
Business enterprises can use a group of related measures to evaluate their performance and satisfy their external and internal customers. This family of measures provides a meaningful evaluation of organizational performance. The proper balance should be achieved for an organization's units to function smoothly and achieve continuity in plans, improvements and customer relations. Seven characteristics of a well-designed family of measures are given. Six important questions should be addressed when evaluating how effective and thorough the family of measures are to avoid mistakes when developing the measures.

Competing based on the customer's hierarchy of needs
Article Abstract:
Business enterprises that fail to achieve an actual competitive edge usually neglect to address the hierarchy of customers' needs. Some firms manage to improve their business performance but fail to excite their customers. These companies should identify the reasons that drive customers to purchase their products. They should also find out what motivates repeat purchases in these customers. The stages involved in customer-supplier relationships are outlined. Several guidelines for attracting customer attention are also presented.
