Using competency alignment to shape, drive, and sustain change efforts
Article Abstract:
Competency alignment, otherwise known as job redesign, can serve as the building block for planning and implementing organizational changes such as reengineering programs or downsizings. Generally, it is a four-phase process composed of assessment of the organization's processes and people, assignment of employees to new roles, acquisition of new skills and alignment of human resource systems. The latter is essential to support new employee behaviors.
