How your health eats into your wealth,(annuities and life expectancy)
Article Abstract:
Risks are likely to be taken more into account by life insurance companies, which means that healthy customers can obtain cheaper endowments and smokers can obtain better annuity rates. Life insurers place little importance on health factors apart from heart surgery, smoking, age and sex. This could change, creating a more efficient market. Smokers can already obtain better annuities from Stalwart Insurance, since they die younger so receive annuities for a shorter period.
