Naval aviation programs would have to endure cost cutting in the same manner that price-slashing pressures are imposed on naval shipbuilding program, though the Navy is committed to maintaining at least 10 air wings. In naval aviation, the Navy still is considering its options after the planned Army-Navy Aerial Common Sensor (ACS) intelligence plane contract was canceled.

Admirals don't see shortage of Navy ships looming
Article Abstract:
The measured pace of building warships will not result in a shortage of platforms to execute requested missions as anticipated by the Key Navy admirals. The Navy plans to fund just four ships for $6 billion in the fiscal year ending September 30, 2006 but the Navy may not be able to respond if simultaneously crisis erupt.
