Vicious circle
Article Abstract:
Research published by the World Bank in 2006 shows that too many developing economies over-regulate their business practices, hindering competitiveness, and leading to a vicious circle of poor economic growth, poverty, a large informal economy, poor corporate governance practices and corruption. The research compares the key steps needed to create and run a successful and prosperous business, from start-up to hiring and firing workers, enforcing contracts through to closing a business.
