Visual impact pricing for profit
Article Abstract:
The Visual Impact Pricing method for increasing the revenues and profitability of newspaper advertising can be implemented in four steps. Newspaper advertising should first be introduced on a modular basis with the Standardized Advertising Unit modules as a starting point. A modified modular pricing structure should then be implemented, with the full page as the standard unit with the lowest cost per inch. A new discount structure should then be enforced based on the total dollar volume expenditures. Newspapers can be reduced from broadsheet to tabloid once the page ad pricing system is introduced without lowering the advertising revenue per page.

Newspapers are the best advertising medium since they are the only means of communication that reaches all the social groups from the young to the old, the less- to the higher-educated and from the poor to the rich. By placing an advertisement on newspapers, consumers are reached, which is the foremost reason why newspapers have developed into the classic retail advertising medium. Newspapers are also the appropriate medium when explaining product information to a large audience.
