Voluntary social reporting in three FTSE sectors: a comment on perception and legitimacy
Article Abstract:
Research of social and environmental reporting within Financial Times Stock Exchange companies from 1975 to 1997 shows that legitimacy theory is in some cases an explanation of corporate disclosure. Other factors, however, complicate this link and challenge the utility of performing studies on annual reports.
