WSP: building bridges

WSP has managed to maintained its profitability despite problems for the UK construction industry. The company is moving out of the UK market and and is aiming for overseas activity to reach 25% of sales for the two to three years from 1996. A rise in volume sales is needed if prices for work in the UK are to rise. The company is seeking to focus on bigger projects which can bring better margins. WSP's profit is forecast at 2.3 million pounds sterling for 1996 rising to 2.8 million pounds for 1997 by Beeson Gregory.
