The reward for risk on Wall Street
Article Abstract:
Equities involve risk, and historically equities have performed better than bonds by nearly 7% annually, using data from 1802. This does not mean that equities will always perform better than bonds. Longer term investors are more likely to receive a better reward for investing in equities, which may be safer than bonds over 30-year periods and longer. This may mean that investors gain a large reward with no risk, but most investors cannot invest for such long periods.

What to look for on Wall Street: a closer look at US equities
Article Abstract:
US equities offer opportunities for growth and most smaller companies represent a high risk level, though many smaller US companies are large in terms of the United Kingdom. US brokers are offering more dealing opportunities in the UK, and internet brokers are carrying out changes that affect the world market. Macro factors have to be assessed by investors in the US. Non-US investors are likely to gain from moves in the US dollar, while bond markets appear unlikely to affect stocks.
